After a long day of work, I decided to catch the sunset in Venice, California. The weather was perfect, and as the sun descended toward the horizon, the sky turned a deep orange and reflected onto the serene water of the Venice Canals. I stopped to appreciate a rare moment of peaceful quiet in this urban jungle. For a moment, it seemed as if time itself had stopped, so as to give me a chance to capture a literally golden moment. It is my hope that the viewer will also be moved to feel the stillness of the moment.
For me, this is the imitable essence of photography--to connect the photographer and viewer across time and space to share in the original awe that inspired the photograph in the first place.
